Ramos Gin Fizz

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Gin
  • 0.5 oz. Simple Syrup
  • 0.5 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 0.5 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
  • 1 Egg White
  • 1 oz. Heavy Cream
  • 3 Drops Orange Flower Water
  • Top With Soda Water

Preparation

  1. In a shaker, combine gin, simple syrup, lemon juice, lime juice, egg white, heavy cream, and orange flower water.
  2. First, shake these ingredients without ice (this is called a dry shake) to emulsify the egg white.
  3. Add ice to the shaker and shake again vigorously. This second shake chills and froths the mixture.
  4. Strain the mixture into a tall glass, leaving room at the top.
  5. Gently pour soda water to fill the glass. The foam should rise above the rim of the glass.
  6. Optionally, garnish with a light zest of lemon or orange peel.

Additional Notes

  • The key to a great Ramos Gin Fizz is the shaking. The longer and more vigorously you shake, the creamier and frothier the drink will be.
  • Use a high-quality gin for the best flavor profile.
