Dos Hombres: A Dual Expression of Modern Agave Craft

Founded by actors and longtime friends Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, Dos Hombres was created with a focus on approachable, high-quality agave spirits that honor traditional production methods while remaining accessible to a modern audience.

Built around a commitment to craftsmanship and authenticity, the brand spans both mezcal and tequila, offering two distinct expressions of agave character under one unified identity.

In the Chilled Awards, Dos Hombres presents a focused exploration of agave through Espadín Mezcal and Tequila Blanco. Together, they offer a side-by-side study in smoke, structure, and accessibility, highlighting how different production methods shape flavor while still sharing a common agave foundation.

All of the selections featured here were entered into the May judging of the 2026 Chilled Awards, where they were evaluated by working bartenders based on flavor, mixability, and overall performance in the glass.

Dos Hombres Espadin Mezcal

Overall Score: 88 Points (Gold)

Crystal clear in the glass, Dos Hombres Espadin Mezcal opens with inviting aromatics of roasted agave layered with a gentle, sweet campfire smoke. The nose is expressive but balanced, immediately signaling a classic mezcal profile.

On the palate, it delivers an earthy, crisp entry defined by traditional smoke and agave-forward depth. The texture is smooth and approachable, carrying a well-tempered structure that keeps the smoke present without overwhelming the spirit. Judges noted its balance of roasted intensity with subtle fruit undertones, creating a composed and accessible expression of the category.

The finish is smooth and lingering, with soft smoke that remains clean and memorable. Highly versatile, it performs especially well in citrus-driven cocktails like a Mezcal Margarita, where its smoky character lifts the build without dominating it.

Dos Hombres Tequila Blanco

Overall Score: 89 Points (Gold)

Brilliantly crystal clear in the glass, Dos Hombres Tequila Blanco opens with a smoky-sweet aroma layered with traditional agave notes and subtle hints of honey. The nose is warm and expressive, offering a slightly unconventional take on a classic Blanco profile.

On the palate, it delivers a sweet, earthy entry with immediate campfire-inspired character. The texture is crisp and slightly dry, creating a clean structure that allows the smoke and agave notes to remain distinct and balanced. Judges highlighted its straightforward expression, with a steady interplay of smoke, sweetness, and agave clarity throughout.

The finish is clean with a soft touch of lingering smoke and sweetness. Approachable and versatile, it works well both neat and in cocktails, where its gentle smoke adds dimension without overpowering the build.
