The Divining Rod Water Charity

The Divining Rod kicks off donation in honor of World Water Day.

In honor of World Water Day, Marc Mondavi and his wine brand, The Divining Rod, announced today a new campaign and donation to support charity: water, a non-profit organization that brings clean and safe drinking water to people in developing countries. Mondavi, a part-time water diviner or dowser, had been assisting farmers in California during the drought when he decided to take his passion for water to a world stage by supporting charity: water.

As part of the campaign, Mondavi and his family’s company, C. Mondavi & Family, have made a donation to charity: water and have set up a donation page at my.charitywater.org/TheDiviningRod-WWD14 to allow others to donate as well. In addition, Mondavi hopes to continue to support charity: water through other promotions throughout the year with his wine brand, The Divining Rod.

Mondavi launched The Divining Rod Wines in 2012 in honor of his abilities as a water dowser. Using divining rods to locate underground water sources, Mondavi has helped vintners and farmers throughout California find water sources. The divining rods channel the energy of the diviner to give an indication of positive or negative response, location or directionality of the water.

“As a farmer myself, I understand how essential water is to any type of crop,” says Marc Mondavi. “People may not believe in dowsing but if you ask any farmer who has used a dowser they will tell you how well they work.”
