The Chilled 100 and Lyre’s No-ABV Cocktail Series

Lyre’s invited five of today’s top bartenders
from our Chilled 100 Bartenders group to create their best booze-free cocktails using Lyre’s exquisite range of expertly crafted non-alcoholic spirits. With a choice in mind, Lyre’s provides an alternative for those who don’t wish imbibe alcohol and ensure that everyone can enjoy sober socializing, while not sacrificing taste in cocktails and social experiences.
As we know, options are important and offering a choice of Low- or No-ABV cocktails on today’s drinks menus are a must. So, we asked our Chilled 100 Bartenders to create some great tasting, Low- and No-ABV cocktails to inspire other bartenders everywhere.
Houston-based bartender Patrick Abalos is an industry influencer with close to 20 years behind the stick. For him, homemade, quality ingredients are key to a great tasting cocktail. HIs kumquat-focused cocktail, Nick of Time, pairs Kumquat-Mandarin Syrup with Lyres Blanco, citrus, mint, and is topped with ginger ale. In his Sinless Sour, he creates a Turbinado Syrup with both Lyre’s expressions Reposado and Amaretti.
Nick of Time
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. Lyre’s Blanco
- 1 oz. Lime Juice
- 1/2 oz. Kumquat-Mandarin Syrup*
- 10-15 Mint Leaves
- Top with Ginger Ale
Preparation: In a mixing tin, add all ingredients. Shake vigorously for 6-8 seconds. Double Strain to chilled flute. Top with Ginger Ale. Garnish with dehydrated lime wheel. Enjoy!
*Kumquat-Mandarin Syrup

Ingredients:
- 400g Mandarin Juice
- 200g Kumquats (Halved)
- 1200g White Sugar
- 50g Lemon Juice
Preparation: Combine all but the lemon juice in a pot. Bring to a boil. Turn off heat. Let cool for 10 minutes then strain off the kumquats. Add lemon juice. Let come to room temperature and then refrigerate. Use as needed
Sinless Sour
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 oz. Lyre’s Reposado
- 3/4 oz. Lyre’s Amaretti
- 1 oz. Lemon Juice
- 1/2 oz. Turbinado Syrup*
- 1 egg white
Preparation: Combine all ingredient in a mixing tin. Dry shake (no ice) vigorously for 8-10 seconds. Add ice. Shake again until it sounds like a tennis ball in your tin. Double strain into a chilled rocks glass. Garnish with a spritz of Angostura and cherry.
*Turbinado Syrup
- 2 parts Turbinado Sugar
- 1 part Water
Preparation: Combine all ingredients in a pot. Bring to a simmer making sure all sugar is dissolved. Turn off heat. Let come to room temperature. Refrigerate and use as needed.
