Six Sagamore Spirit Cocktails to Evoke That Festive Feeling

Preparing for the holidays can be stressful enough.
Gatherings have been cut due to the current state of the world and 2020 seems to be lacking that holiday spirit.
Whether spending time at home or have a celebration with close family this year, a good cocktail can evoke that jolly feeling. To help relieve the stress of what cocktail to make, Sagamore Spirit is sharing easy-to-make drinks that will pair perfectly with any festive activities.
Each cocktail is made with the award-winning Maryland-style rye whiskey. It’s the perfect foundation for any cocktail because of the balanced and approachable flavors.
Sagamore Pear Sour
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 oz. Sagamore Spirit Signature Rye Whiskey
- 2 oz. Pear Juice
- 1/2 oz. Lemon Juice
- 1/2 oz. Cinnamon Syrup*
- One Fresh Pear
- Lemon & Ground Cinnamon for garnish
Preparation: Cut pear into quarters and remove core. Place 1/4 into shaker and muddle. Add Sagamore Spirit Rye Whiskey, pear juice, lemon juice, and cinnamon syrup. Add ice and shake until cold. Strain into a rocks glass over ice. Garnish with a lemon wheel and ground cinnamon.
*Cinnamon Syrup
Mix one cup each of water and sugar with two cinnamon sticks in a small pot. Cook on med-low heat until sugar is dissolved and reduce to a simmer for 10-minutes. Cool and store in refrigerator. Yields 1 1/2 cups.
Pumpkin Spice Sipper
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 oz. Sagamore Spirit Signature Rye Whiskey
- 1 1/2 oz. Pumpkin Puree
- 1 1/2 oz. Sweetened Condensed Milk
- One Heavy Dash Pumpkin Spice
- Ground Cinnamon for garnish
Preparation: Fill shaker halfway with ice and add all ingredients. Shake to combine all ingredients. Strain into a rocks glass over one large ice cube. Garnish with a dusting of ground cinnamon.
Fig Old Fashioned
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. Sagamore Spirit Signature Rye Whiskey
- 1/2 oz. Dark Brown Sugar Syrup*
- 2 dashes Sycophant bitters (orange and fig bitters)
- 1 dash Angostura bitters
- Fig for garnish
Preparation: Add all ingredients into a mixing glass. Add ice and stir until cold. Strain into a coupe glass and garnish.
*Dark Brown Sugar Syrup
Mix one cup each of water and sugar. Cook on med-low heat until sugar is dissolved and reduce to a simmer for 10-minutes. Cool and store in refrigerator. Yields 1 1/2 cups.
Sagamore Apple Butter
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 oz. Sagamore Spirit Signature Rye Whiskey
- 4 oz. Cinnamon Apple Spice Tea
- 1/2 oz. Lemon Juice
- 3/4 oz. Honey
- Unsalted Butter for garnish
Preparation: Steep tea bag in hot water according to boxed instructions. Add Sagamore Spirit Signature Rye Whiskey, lemon juice and honey. Stir until combined. Garnish with one tablespoon butter to melt on top.
Sagamore Paper Plane
Ingredients:
- 3/4 oz. Sagamore Spirit Signature Rye Whiskey
- 3/4 oz. Aperol
- 3/4 oz. Lemon Juice
- 3/4 oz. Amaro Nonino
- Lemon for garnish
Preparation: Add all ingredients into a shaker. Add ice and shake until cold. Strain into a coupe glass and garnish with a lemon twist.
Sagamore Winter Mule
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 oz. Sagamore Spirit Signature Rye Whiskey
- 1 oz. Cranberry Juice
- 1/4 Lemon Juice
- 1/4 oz. Organic Maple Syrup
- 2 oz. Ginger Beer
- Sage Leaves for garnish
Preparation: Fill a Collins glass with ice. Add Sagamore Spirit Signature Rye Whiskey, cranberry juice, lemon juice and maple syrup. Top with ginger beer and give a slight stir to combine. Garnish with a sage leaf.
