Must Mix: South of the Border Cocktail

The South of the Border, a refreshing and simple cocktail recipe from Baltaire, the latest steakhouse to open in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, is easily executable with delicious flavor.

Beverage Director and Sommelier David Vaughn has created a cocktail menu that features contemporary interpretations on Prohibition-inspired cocktails. One in particular is the South of the Border, including Casa Amigos tequila, lime, cucumber, and mint.

Ingredients:
- 2 oz. Casa Amigos Tequila
- 3-4 Slices of Cucumber
- 3-4 Mint Sprigs
- 3/4 oz. of Lime Juice
- 3/4 oz. of Simple Syrup
Preparation: In a shaker, muddle mint and cucumber, then add the lime juice, simple syrup, and fill with ice. Shake ingredients and double strain. Float a thin wheel of cucumber and small mint leaf as a garnish.
