As the weather cools down, people are turning to heartier libations like bourbons and whiskeys to keep warm.
Yardbird Southern Table & Bar, with locations in Las Vegas and Miami, is embracing winter with infused bourbons in out-of-the-box flavors like bacon and salted maple.
Yardbird’s cocktail program also features a flavored ice selection including watermelon cubes and Dijon thyme cubes. The Las Vegas location has a hand-cut ice program (including blocks, long rocks and spheres) created daily by staff.
Yardbird Old Fashioned
- 2 oz. Bacon Infused Bourbon*
- 1/2 oz. Maple Syrup
- 2 dashes Aromatic Bitters
- 1 dash Orange Bitters
Preparation: Stir all ingredients with ice, strain over fresh ice. Garnish with orange peel.

“For the bacon infused bourbon, we use our own house smoked pork belly. We render all the fat out and we save it for the bourbon. We let the mixture soak for 48 hours in the cooler and strain out the fat the following morning.”
