Cocktail by john roman
Ingredients:
2oz Deep Eddy Vodka
.75 oz lime juice
1oz lemon juice
1oz semi rich cherry syrup
.5oz Blue Raspberry liqueur
Preparation:
I made a semi rich cherry syrup with with 1.5 parts cane sugar and 1 part cherry juice (I specifically used Trader Joe’s)
I started by placing my red LED cubes on the bottom of the glass and put a few regular ice cubes on top of that. Add 1oz of semi-rich cherry syrup .75oz Deep Eddie vodka and .75oz lime juice to a shaker tin and give that a quick 3-5 second shake. In a separate tin add 1.25oz of Deep Eddy vodka, .5oz Blue Raspberry liqueur, and 1oz lemon juice. Give that a good 5-7 second shake. Pour cherry tin contents into collins glass. Add blue LED cube and fill to top with ice. Gently pour blue raspberry tin over the top to get the layered effect. Add twisty straw with ridiculous cowboy hat to achieve a heightened level of silly.
Garnish:
Blue and red LED ice cubes and twisty straw with mini cowboy hat
Glassware:
Collins
Cocktail Inspiration:
Cop cars, K-Mart and the flavors of summer. I wanted this to be something that you look at and smile. The flashing lights and cheeky presentation, just pure silliness. I also wanted nostalgia, so I wanted to make a drink that reminded me of when my Icee or Slurpee started to melt and the flavors started mixing together.
