Dos Maderas Mai Tai

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Dos Maderas 5+3 Rum
  • .5 oz. Dry Curaçao like Pierre Ferrand
  • .5 oz. Demerara Syrup (1:1)
  • .25 oz. Orgeat Syrup
  • 1 oz. Fresh lime juice

Preparation

  1. Prepare your Demerara Syrup by dissolving 1 part demerara sugar into 1 part boiling water. Simmer for 20 min, stirring occasionally. Let cool.
  2. Chill your Tiki mug (or a Rocks or Highball glass).
  3. Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 10 seconds.
  4. Double-strain into your chilled Tiki mug.
  5. Fill the Tiki mug with crushed ice and stir gently.
