Bacardi® Rum Toast to Cuban Independence Day and the Rebel in All of Us
By Chilled Magazine
BACARDÍ, the world’s best-selling and most awarded rum, was enjoyed last night at the BACARDÍ Rebels event hosted by Rolling Stone. BACARDÍ rum was founded in Cuba in 1862, in the midst of the fight for Cuban independence. Proud of their Cuban roots, BACARDÍ toasted Cuban Independence Day with a Cuba Libre to celebrate the courageous spirits of the brand’s founders.
Jamie Foxx, Alessandra Ambrosio, Danny Pino, Aidy Bryant, Cecily Strong, Bobby Moynihan, John Starks, Larry Johnson and Earl Monroe were among those who turned out for electrifying performances from Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Fitz and The Tantrums at New York City’s historic Roseland Ballroom last night. DJ Cassidy was on site, spinning throughout the night, while celebrity guest presenters and consumers enjoyed exclusive BACARDĺ cocktails.
The high-profile event featured a “Rebels Room,” dedicated to iconic pioneers in music, pop culture, history, and rum making, like BACARDÍ rum’s founder Don Facundo Bacardí Massó and other revolutionary family members including Emilio Bacardí. A pioneer in rum-making and a key player in Cuba’s fight for independence, these men brought revolutionary change to the rum industry and to Cuba despite endless challenges. Elements of BACARDÍ rum’s great history were showcased together with other engaging pieces of the brand’s Cuban provenance.
