Clean & Ultra-Premium Bases

Absolut Elyx

Overall Score: 90

Absolut Elyx presents a crystal-clear appearance and a classic, category-true vodka profile. Judges noted initial alcohol-forward aromatics, a touch of grain sweetness on the palate, and some heat with slight astringency through the mid-palate. The finish is mid-length with lingering alcohol presence. Best suited for cocktails, it stands out for its versatility, strong mixability, and excellent value with premium-looking packaging.

Absolut Original

Overall Score: 89

Absolut Original delivers a crystal-clear appearance with light, pleasant aromatics and subtle floral notes. The palate is smooth with a hint of sweetness and no initial burn, though it leans slightly dry with some heat emerging on the finish. Clean and category-true, it stands out for its versatility and mixability, making it a reliable base for everyday cocktails.

Cognac House Expressions

Martell V.S.

Overall Score: 87

Martell V.S. shows a classic Cognac profile with notes of apricot, honey, nuts, and oak. Judges noted a light entry with noticeable heat, leading into a palate that balances fruit, sweetness, and oak, though it remains hot throughout. The finish is long, carrying both warmth and sweetness. Best suited for classic cocktails like a Sidecar or Old Fashioned, it delivers strong category character with solid value.

Martell Cordon Bleu

Overall Score: 85

Martell Cordon Bleu presents a deep amber color with rich aromatics of dried fruit, honey, vanilla, and butterscotch. The palate is bold with caramel and vanilla notes, though less fruit-driven than the nose suggests, with noticeable heat carrying through. Medium-bodied with a lingering warmth on the finish, it delivers a classic profile best suited for sipping or seasonal, spirit-forward cocktails.

Barrel-Aged & Stirred Cocktail Staple

Jefferson’s Bourbon

Overall Score: 85

Jefferson’s Bourbon presents a dark golden hue with sweet aromatics of vanilla and honey. The palate opens bold and notably hot, with sweetness emerging as it develops, supported by a light-to-medium body. Heat remains forward but softens into a long, warm finish where vanilla lingers. A classic, straightforward bourbon best suited for cocktails that help round out its intensity.

Precision Craft Gin

Ki No Bi Kyoto Dry Gin

Overall Score: 85

Ki No Bi Kyoto Dry Gin is clear in appearance with soft aromatics of juniper, pine, and light citrus. The palate is dry, sharp, and notably hot, with subtle sweetness and citrus that fade quickly. Light-bodied with a short finish, it follows a classic gin profile but leans heat-forward. Best suited for mixing, where its lighter character won’t overpower a cocktail.
