30+ Flavors and a Shot at Amsterdam, the Bols Cocktail Battle Is Built for Creativity

When it comes to building a standout cocktail, flavor is everything and Lucas Bols is giving bartenders plenty to work with.

With more than 30 liqueurs spanning fruit, spice, floral, and dessert-driven profiles, the Bols portfolio offers a playground for creativity behind the bar.

From vibrant citrus and tropical expressions to deeper notes of coffee, vanilla, and spice, the range is designed to inspire bold combinations and visually striking serves. It’s exactly the kind of versatility that lends itself to experimentation—layering flavors, playing with color, and pushing cocktails beyond the expected.

That spirit of creativity is at the heart of the Bols Cocktail Battle, now open to bartenders across the U.S. and Canada. Competitors are challenged to create an original cocktail using at least one Bols liqueur, inspired by the theme “neon nights,” with an emphasis on flavor, color, and presentation.

The opportunity goes beyond a single drink. Three North American winners—two from the U.S. and one from Canada—will move on to represent the region on a global stage, competing alongside bartenders from countries around the world.

Each regional winner will earn an expenses-paid trip to the Netherlands to visit the home of Lucas Bols, making this as much about experience and connection as it is competition.

The ask is simple: create a cocktail that stands out. Submissions should include a name, recipe (featuring at least 20 ml of a Bols liqueur), and a photo—For bartenders looking to experiment with new flavors, refine their craft, and gain global exposure, this is the moment.

Prizes for All Finalists

Recipes entered will be judged and the creators of the highest scoring cocktails will be invited to participate in a regional final. The winners of each Regional Final will win an expenses-paid celebratory trip to the Netherlands for a Cocktail Fever inspiration program.
