In honor of the 10th anniversary as the Official Bourbon of the Kentucky Derby, Woodford Reserve launches today their first-ever online charity voting initiative to determine which organization will receive the net proceeds of this year’s $1,000 Mint Julep Cup sales-and is inviting you to be a part of the decision.
The charity which receives the most votes, and thus will receive the net proceeds of the $1,000 Mint Julep Cup sales, will be announced at the 2015 Woodford Reserve $1,000 Mint Julep Cup press conference on April 13th at Churchill Downs. A nominal donation will be awarded to the remaining organization.
Woodford Reserve has raised over $410,000 for equine and humanitarian causes from the $1,000 Mint Julep Cups sales to-date. The brand is eager to celebrate ten years of their $1,000 Mint Julep Program by involving their fans and general consumers in identifying this year’s charity partner.
Through midnight on Monday, March 30th, consumers ages 21-and-older can cast their vote as many times as they’d like for either the Wounded Warrior Equestrian Program or the Permanently Disabled Jockeys’ Fund by visiting WoodfordReserveMintJulep.com/CharityVote.
