Tuition Reimbursement Program Launched by the New Orleans Culinary and Cultural Preservation Society
By Chilled Magazine
The New Orleans Culinary and Cultural Preservation Society (NOCCPS) Tuition Reimbursement Program encourages and supports Cocktail Apprentice alumni who enroll in college, university, technical school courses, or hospitality courses in order to obtain an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctoral, technical degree, or a certificate of completion that has a grade.
“NOCCPS is offering an unprecedented tuition program, making it possible for dedicated industry professionals to further their careers and improve their businesses,” said Mike Ryan, Head Bartender at Sable Kitchen and Lead Scholarship CAP Leader.
Currently, NOCCPS offers former Cocktail Apprentices opportunities through the Medical Assistance Fund, B.A.R. Scholarships and the CAP Scholarship Program that awards grants in various projects bartenders are interested in pursuing. Any former Cocktail Apprentice can apply for and secure tuition reimbursement benefits.
The Tales of the Cocktail® Apprentice Program® was established in 2008 to give talented bartenders the opportunity to apprentice with skilled veterans and hone their craft. Working directly with presenters during the highly sought after seminars, the program gives participants an opportunity to work on large scale events while learning first-hand about their craft’s history and it’s new directions. Apprentices continue to take these skills to new achievements in their home bars and personal work post-Tales of the Cocktail®. The team camaraderie and dynamics they learn and foster during this week have also become some of the most valuable tools that Apprentices carry on with them.
Tuition Reimbursement applications will be available online at www.TalesoftheCocktail.com in January 2015. All tuition reimbursements will be granted on a rolling basis and to be eligible for reimbursement, education must be completed in the 2015 year.
