Properly Store Wine
By Adam Rains
Monitoring humidity levels in wine cellars is crucial to preserving wine quality. The recommended humidity level in wine storage areas is between 50% and 70% relative humidity (RH). If humidity is above 70%, mold can develop and deterioration of wine labels may occur. If humidity is lower than 50%, wine corks can dry out and crack, causing wine to leak and prematurely age.
AcuRite, a leader in time, temperature and weather technology has Digital Humidity & Temperature Monitors that allow you to check humidity levels in a glance. The monitors have bold, easy to read LCD screens and display daily high/low readings, allowing you to make sure humidity conditions are optimal.
