According to the folks at Bacardi, August is National Rum Month. They are sharing some rum-derful BACARDI cocktails to help celebrate the month and National Rum Day on August 16th.
Check out the Old Cuban Bacardi cocktail made with Ocho adding just a few other classic ingredients makes for an incredibly smooth sipping experience. And just because rum is fun, we added the Ocho Old Fashioned recipe today too! Enjoy!
Old Cuban
Ingredients:
- 2 oz BACARDÍ Reserva Ocho
- 1 oz lime juice
- 1 oz simple syrup
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 6 – 8 mint leaves
- 2 oz champagne/sparkling wine
Preparation: Shake all ingredients aside from the sparkling wine in a cocktail shaker with ice, and fine strain into a chilled coupe. Top with sparkling wine and garnish with a mint sprig.
Ocho Old Fashioned
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. BACARDÍ Reserva Ocho
- ¼ oz. simple syrup
- 2 dashes Angostura® bitters
Preparation: Add all ingredients into a rocks glass, fill with ice and stir until well mixed and very cold. Garnish with orange peel.
