Fashion Expert Kotsiopoulos to Style the World-Famous Melon Liqueur’s 2013 Advertising Campaign

midori featured imageMidori®, the original melon liqueur, announces the launch of an exclusive partnership with celebrity stylist George Kotsiopoulos of E!’s hit series “Fashion Police” for a new fashion-friendly “Happy Hour” style marketing platform. As partner, George will serve as the brand’s first-ever style ambassador and stylist for the 2013 advertising campaign starring Candice Accola of “The Vampire Diaries,” who will serve as the new face of Midori.

After a successful two year partnership with Kim Kardashian, Midori’s new marketing campaign will be unveiled on May 20th and will focus on those special Happy Hour moments when fun, friends and fashion take center stage. Candice plays the muse to George’s fresh, fashion-forward perspective on how to transition from work to play, enhancing your own personal style and showing you are ready to greenlight the night.

“This is the first time a spirits brand has hired a style ambassador and I think it is a great demonstration of how Midori recognizes that fashion and cocktailing literally go hand in hand,” said George Kotsiopoulos.

“Similar to a Midori cocktail, “Happy Hour” fashion should sparkle with a fun and flirty twist to the ordinary. Through this partnership, I hope to show the brand’s fans how easy it is to make that shift from your work life to your personal life, injecting stand-out style cues that let the world know that you are ready to start an amazing night.”

In addition to styling the advertising campaign, George will be the voice for all social media campaigns tied to Midori’s Happy Hour platform, engaging with Midori fans on style tips and trends. He will also be at the helm of various Midori fashion programs executed throughout the year, including live events and special nationwide promotions which will feature the signature “Happy Hour” cocktail, Midori & Ginger.

“We’ve just introduced a new package with a frosted finish and more premium, contemporary design,” said Mary McGerity, Midori Brand Manager, Campari America. “We think this Happy Hour style partnership is the perfect fit for us now with our new look. There is a synergy between fun, bright cocktails and personal fashion choices during “Happy Hour,” therefore we wanted to develop a program that celebrates the two with the guidance of one of the top fashion stylists in the industry. George is like a fabulous best friend in the fashion world and we look forward to collaborating with him on the new platform.”

Enjoyed as a specialty cocktail or simply with soda, Midori celebrates being fabulous, outgoing and sophisticated with its vibrant emerald green color. As the brand’s style ambassador, George will demonstrate that Midori is the must-have fashion accessory for stylish and social young women and men.
