Waterloo Gin Expands to 25 Markets Nationwide Following 94-Point Rating
By Chilled Magazine
Waterloo Gin Company, the first gin brand distilled in Texas and inspired by the botanicals of the Texas Hill Country, announced today the expansion of its distribution into seven additional states: California, Hawaii, Maine, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Pennsylvania (on-premise), and Tennessee.
With this rollout, Waterloo Gin will be available in 25 U.S. markets by the end of May 2026. The expansion further strengthens the brand’s national footprint and aligns it with a network of major wholesale distributors to support continued growth across both retail and on-premise channels.
Under the ownership of John Paul DeJoria, co-founder of Paul Mitchell and Patrón Spirits (later sold to Bacardi), Waterloo Gin has continued to scale its national presence while maintaining a focus on Texas-inspired botanicals and production identity.
The expansion follows recent critical recognition for the brand’s portfolio. In 2026, Wine Enthusiast awarded Waterloo Gin No. 9 a 94-point rating, calling it “Superb” and designating it a “Best Buy.” Spirits editor Kara Newman described the gin as:
“Mix martinis with this citrusy, savory gin. Whiffs of dried oregano and lime peel lead into warming flavors of olive leaf and bay leaf; a hint of toasted almond emerges on the exhale. Botanicals include lavender, grapefruit, and pecan.”
The publication also rated Waterloo Barrel Aged Gin 92 points, and Prickly Pear & Rose Gin 88 points, also earning a “Best Buy” designation.
“Strong critical reviews across our portfolio have driven increased demand from both retail consumers and on-premise partners,” said Justin Meigs, CEO of Waterloo Gin Company.
“Since the brand’s relaunch in 2025, we’ve focused on building a distinctly American-style gin rooted in Texas botanicals and premium quality. Expanding into seven new states marks a significant step in our national growth strategy.”
Industry momentum in premium gin continues to support category growth. According to Business Research Insights, the global premium gin market is projected to grow from $5.61 billion in 2026 to $11.45 billion by 2035, representing a CAGR of 8.1%. Growth is being driven in part by consumer demand for super-premium and craft expressions in cocktail programs.
To support distribution expansion, Waterloo Gin has partnered with major wholesalers including Reyes Beverage Group, RNDC, Johnson Brothers, and the Army & Air Force Exchange Service, which will carry the brand in select U.S. military bases. The company is also expanding international availability through its online store and select retail partners in the United Kingdom, including Amazon.
Waterloo Gin No. 9, Barrel-Aged Gin, and Prickly Pear & Rose Gin are available at a suggested retail price of $34.99–$44.99.
Additional expansion into New Mexico and Tennessee is expected by the end of April 2026, with further rollout planned in the District of Columbia, Indiana, Maryland, Rhode Island, and South Carolina in Q3.
