Iconic Second Bottling of Besieged from Ravenswood Winery
By Chilled Magazine
This fall, Ravenswood, the iconic California winery, will release a second bottling of its new limited edition wine, BESIEGED.
A dark full-bodied blend created by Ravenswood’s founding winemaker, Joel Peterson, the latest BESIEGED blend will debut in September just in time for Halloween and other holidays, making it the best new wine for readers to share at all their fall gatherings. The wine’s dark and evocative label features a trio of menacing ravens in the night sky, a nod to the good fortune brought by the ominous circumstances Ravenswood’s first harvest, which was threatened by an impending storm and a lack of resources. As Joel struggled to finish picking grapes before the storm, a cackling circle of ravens surrounded the vineyards from above and what he originally thought was a bad omen proved to be just the opposite, when he was able to finish the harvest and produce an acclaimed wine.
In homage to the winery’s birth, the new BESIEGED label will be available at fine wine stores in major markets beginning September, for $15.99.
