Catoctin Creek Distilling Co. has announced the release of its annual Rabble Rouser Bottled in Bond Rye Whisky.
The distillery’s most sought-after whisky is offering over 100 cases nationwide. For owners Scott and Becky Harris, this will be double what they released last year.
“Due to better planning and growing reserves, Becky and I are really excited to offer more Rabble Rouser this year,” said co-founder and general manager, Scott Harris. “Because it’s been so limited in the past, this may be the first time a lot of folks will be able to purchase it, and we’re looking forward to hearing what they think!”
The whisky, bottled at 100 proof and aged for four years, is distilled from 100% rye at a lower proof, to capture the flavors that are typically lost in pot stills. The tasting notes provide a rustic profile that is reminiscent of the states of Virginia. With notes of nectarines, clover, honey, sandalwood, peaches, deep earthy notes, and more, the whisky is nothing short of flavorful.
Catoctin Creek Rabble Rouser, 50% ABV will be available through a limited number of select retailers. The $99 rye whisky went on sale, Feb. 8, and will also be available for pickup and shipping on Catoctin Creeks website — in Virginia only.
