Dad's Old Fashioned

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Dos Maderas 5+5 Aged Rum
  • .25 oz. Rich Simple Syrup (2:1)
  • 2 dashes of Aromatic bitters (like Angostura)
  • 2 dashes of Orange bitters (like Bitter Truth)

Preparation

  1. Prepare your Rich Simple Syrup by dissolving 2 parts cane sugar into 1 part boiling water. Let cool.
  2. Chill a Rocks glass.
  3. Add all ingredients to a Mixing Glass, fill with cracked ice and stir with a long bar spoon for 10 seconds.
  4. Strain into your glass over 1 large piece of ice| Garnish with an orange peel, oils expressed over your drink at a 45 degree angle. Cheers!

  • ¾ oz Fresh Lemon Juice
  • ¾ oz Simple Syrup
  • 1 egg white

Preparation

  1. Combine Rhum, lemon juice, simple syrup, and egg white in a shaker with ice.
  2. Shake well and strain into a coupe or rocks glass.
