Mandarine Napoleon’s “Battle of the Sexes” at Napoleon House
The third annual Mandarine Napoleon Imperiale Battle of the Sexes erupted at Napoleon House with none other than Mr. and Mrs. Cocktail, Paul and Anne Tuennerman, presiding with brand owner Marc Dekuyper. Ladies and gents were divided into teams; the men were victorious, winning $1,000 to be donated to New Orleans’ Kingsley House, the charity of their choice. The winning cocktail was called Napoleon Got Deported, a frozen slushy created by Nectaly Mendoza.

Monkey 47 at Bellocq
At New Orleans’ famed Bellocq, Monkey 47’s distinctive botanicals were celebrated in cocktails prepared by equally celebrated bartenders Jim Meehan, Kirk Estopinal, and Sean Hoard, as well as Monkey 47 owner Alexander Stein.

Dominic Venegas and Whitney Hobbs of the Bon Vivants and celebrated cocktail writer Camper English shook things up at Napoleon House, serving up cocktails featuring Rutte’s award-winning new gins and genever.

“Shake the Vine ” Competition at Salon by Sucre
Zachary Patterson, Los Angeles bartender and co-owner of Melrose Umbrella Company, walked away with $5,000 as the winner of Chateau St. Michelle’s Shake the Vine competition. His winning cocktail, the Summer Dress, featured white grapes, St. Michelle Wine Estates Red Diamond Chardonnay, Grey Goose Le Poire, Chareau Aloe Liqueur, Oro Blanco grapefruit, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup.

VEEV at Balise and Apolline
On July 17th, mixologists Willy Shine, Jesse Carr, and Tina Ross, winner of Chilled’s “A Better Way to Drink” cocktail challenge, kicked off TOTC at the “Dynamic Duo” Event at Balise. VEEV cocktails inspired by the sounds and culture of New Orleans were served in addition to Ross’ winning cocktail, The Golden Light, made with Coconut oil fat-washed VEEV, lemon juice, and rose liqueur. The party continued into the morning, moving to Apolline Restaurant where VEEV hosted the Brunch & Cocktails event on July 18th.
