1970s Inspired Cocktails

Many people think of the 1970’s as a punch line, but what about a cocktail menu that is an ode to one of the most influential decades in the US?

This season, Mixologist Kent Westmoreland of The Cocktail Bar at Windsor Court, New Orleans, decided to forego the trend of pumpkin fall drinks, after being inspired by a 16-year-old boy seen driving around the French Quarter, rocking out to a 70’s classic.

An experimental period where creatives pushed the boundaries influencing film and music, with icons like Spielberg, Coppola, Lucas, Jagger and Zeppelin who changed the industries; The Cocktail Bar will be serving up a special menu with six cocktails to celebrate the “ME” decade.

Influential films like The Godfather, Chinatown and the original Star Wars hit the silver screen and classic rock is the music of the ‘70s. And we should all be drinking more Grasshoppers.”

• 2 dashes Bitterman’s Tiki Bitters

• 1/4 oz. Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur
• 1/2 oz. Grapefruit Juice
• 1/2 pomegranate grenadine
• 1 Egg White
