Concannon Vineyard Announces Inaugural Wine on Tap Offering
Concannon Vineyard introduces another progressive step in the winery’s commitment to sustainability and environmental conservation, announcing its first-ever wine on tap. In partnership with Free Flow Wines, the pioneer of premium wine on tap, Concannon 2011 Conservancy Cabernet Sauvignon is now available to on-premise establishments nationally in a reusable 19.5 liter stainless steel keg, the equivalent to 26 standard wine bottles.
“Concannon Vineyard is proud to launch this exciting new program with our Conservancy tier of wines produced from the grapes of Livermore’s Tri-Valley Conservancy Land Trust, a land conservation trust created to protect against urban development,” said fourth generation vintner, John Concannon. [pullquote_left]Wine on tap is the next natural progression for the Conservancy tier, as it removes glass completely from the equation, reducing our carbon footprint, while simultaneously cutting down on waste.”[/pullquote_left]
Ideal for restaurants, wine bars and any establishment that serves wine by the glass, wine on tap maintains wine integrity from the barrel to the glass, while offering operators the benefits of a more economical by the glass price, more storage space, the elimination of spoilage and better efficiencies resulting in less waste. Preserved by a combination of inert gases, 75% nitrogen and 25% carbon dioxide, Concannon Conservancy Cabernet Sauvignon will remain fresh for up to six weeks after being tapped.
