Black Stallion Estate Winery Debuts “Transcendent”
By Chilled Magazine
Black Stallion Estate Winery has announced the inaugural release of “Transcendent” Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, a luxury showcase of the winery’s site-specific winemaking philosophy.
Featuring a master blend of the vintage’s top vineyard lots from Napa Valley’s most prestigious appellations, the debut of this limited production establishes a new benchmark for Black Stallion Estate Winery.
From the mountain elevations and volcanic soils of Mount Veeder, Atlas Peak and Howell Mountain, to respected valley floor locations, Oakville and Oak Knoll District, Winemaker David Ostheimer hand-selected exceptional fruit expressive of Napa Valley’s best. All grapes identified for Transcendent consideration were hand-harvested and fermented separately. Months of meticulous blind tasting evaluations of more than 30 individual lots ultimately determined the final blend for Transcendent, which also received a combination of extended barrel and bottle age for full flavor development.“Transcendent is the fulfillment of our family’s dream to craft a legendary Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley,” said Chris Indelicato, CEO and president of Black Stallion Estate Winery. “This cellar-worthy wine is the ultimate expression of quality, terroir and character, and celebrates years of dedication in the vineyard and cellar.”
Black Stallion Estate Winery’s 2010 Transcendent ($135) released to select markets in July. A blend of 89 percent Cabernet Sauvignon and 11 percent Merlot, Transcendent is a culmination of experience in the vineyard, patience in the cellar and an unwavering commitment to delivering a world-class Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley.
