Valentine’s Day Cocktails from SUSHISAMBA NYC

Whether it be an extravagant night out or a passionate night in, these drinks use fresh and seasonal ingredients and are inspired by a range of exotic cultures; great for any romantic occasion.
Mix up these cocktails by the talented Richard Woods of SUSHISAMBA NYC.
Café Millonario
Ingredients:
- 1 oz. Coffee infused Bacardi Black Rum
- 3/4 oz. Mozart Dark Chocolate
- 1/2 oz. Tonka infused Maple syrup
- 1 Double Espresso (2 oz.)
- 6 dashes Fee Aztec bitters
Preparation/Infusion: 1 bottle of rum with 1/2 lb coffee beans for 3 hours. Infusion: 8 1/2 oz. maple syrup with 15 broken Tonka Beans for 3 hours. Shake all hard with ice then double strain into glass. Sprinkle chocolate dusting on top and 3 coffee beans.
Samba Sour
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 oz. Pisco
- 1 1/2 oz. Turmeric syrup
- 1/2 oz. Yuzu juice
- 1 part Maraschino liqueur
- 1 Egg white
Preparation: Turmeric infusion: Heat 1 bottle of syrup with 1/2 oz. of turmeric powder then filter. Dry shake all with egg white, then re-shake with ice. Design the drink surface with food dye. Garnish: Graffiti paint.
Lavender Lady
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 oz. Bombay Sapphire
- 1/2 oz. Creme de Peche
- 1/2 oz. Lavender Agave
- 1 1/2 oz. Peach Purée
- 3/4 oz. Lemon Juice
- dash of Egg White
- 1 Kaffir Leaf
Preparation: Shake all ingredients together with cube ice and double strain into a coup glass, garnish with a sprig of lavender.
