The $800 Cocktail: Nello Royal

By Chilled Magazine

Nello Alpine, which opened last month at the base of Aspen Mountain, offers guests the ultimate high roller cocktail: The Nello Royal.

Made with Louis XIII Cognac (which runs on average $2,000-$3,000 per bottle), Grand Marnier Cent Cinquantenaire, and demerara sugar, the Nello Royal is fit for a king, with a price tag to match. Guests looking to indulge after a day of skiing can spend $800 on the delightful beverage, while taking in breathtaking views of Aspen Mountain and the surrounding area.

Nello Alpine is an “alpine chic” inspired concept by chef and restaurateur Nello Balan, who has been visiting Aspen for over 20 years and decided to open Nello Alpine in December 2015. Bar Director Costin Tarsoaga, the brains behind the Nello Royal, has created a cocktail menu filled with old favorites and new delights for guests to enjoy at après or before dinner, with highlights including the Old Fashionista, Green 007, and Black Rose Caviar (a molecular gastronomy creation).

If you happen to have a bottle of Louis XIII Cognac laying around, mix one up!
