Impact Databank reported SVEDKA Vodka has become the number one vodka in volume for the year of 2015.
Experiencing exponential growth since Constellation Brands purchased the vodka company in 2007, this is the first time SVEDKA has exceeded all other brands to take the top spot.
According to a recent article in Shanken News Daily, over the past year, SVEDKA Vodka posted the highest growth rate among the top five imported vodka brands, increasing 2.9% to 4.2 million cases in 2015.
“We are so proud that we have hit this important sales milestone and SVEDKA continues to grow and flourish in such a competitive market. This is an incredible achievement for us. It affirms the brand’s quality and core values, while we continue to influence the vodka category with our innovative and award-winning portfolio.”
– Diana Pawlik, SVEDKA’s Vice President of Marketing
Imported and introduced to the U.S. from Sweden in 1998, SVEDKA was purchased by Constellation Brands Inc. in 2007, including exclusive worldwide marketing and distribution rights, and is now the largest imported vodka brand in the United States, according to Impact Magazine (2016). A quality, imported vodka with premium value and outrageous style, SVEDKA is made with locally grown Swedish winter wheat and crystalline water from Sweden’s ice-cold underground springs. In 2015, SVEDKA introduced its newest flavor, Grapefruit Jalapeño, and it’s entry into the 100 proof category.
