So why not add a few more cocktails to this list! With the stress from election season, these five cocktails are made with natural anxiety-relieving benefits that can be made at home. These cocktails are from top hotels and resort bars for a fall sip and stress elixir.
Blueberry Tarragon Sour
Blueberries and tarragon are both known to reduce stress levels.
- 2 oz. Bombay Sapphire Gin
- 10 Blueberries
- 10 Tarragon Leaves
- 3/4 oz. Lemon Juice
- 1/2 oz. Simple Syrup
Preparation: Muddle blueberries and tarragon, then add liquids. Add ice, shake and double strain. Serve over ice with a blueberry and tarragon sprig garnish.
Mezcal contains an aromatic compound called terpenes. This compound has been found to have a positive effect on mood and stress levels.
- 1 oz. Tequila
- 1/2 oz. Mezcal
- 1/2 oz. Ancho Reyes
- 1/4 oz. Velvet Falernum
- 3/4 oz. Lime Juice
- 1/4 oz. Passionfruit Juice
- 3/4 oz. Carrot Juice
- 1/4 oz. Cinnamon Syrup
Preparation: Shake and serve in a Collins glass with a mint sprig and a slice of carrot.

Don’t skip toasting the cinnamon stick for garnish. The scent has been shown to induce relaxation.
- 1 1/2 oz. Tanqueray Gin
- 1 oz. Lemon Juice
- 1 oz. Gizdich Ranch or other locally sourced, fresh-pressed apple juice
- 1 oz. Simple Syrup
- 1 Cinnamon Stick
Preparation: Add all ingredients, except for the cinnamon stick, to cocktail shaker. Fill with ice. Shake and strain into a bucket glass. Top with fresh ice and garnish with cinnamon stick. For a more aromatic treat, toast the cinnamon stick in a 200-degree oven for three to five minutes to release its fragrance.

- 2 oz. Oceans Organic Vodka
- 2 oz. Cucumber/Wheatgrass Simple Syrup
- 1 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
- 4 Drops Lavender Bitters
- Cucumber Slice
- Lemon Slice
- Small Handful of Fresh Wheatgrass
Preparation: Add Vodka, simple syrup, lemon juice and lavender bitters to a cocktail shaker, and shake with ice. Strain into a tall glass with cucumber slice, lemon slice, wheatgrass and ice.

Apples are rich in antioxidants so they are great at combating harmful effect of stress on the skin.
- 2 oz. Bourbon (preferably Buffalo Trace)
- 1 1/2 oz. Apple Cider Concentrate
- 2 Bar Spoons Apple Butter
- A few dashes orange bitters
- Brown sugar cube
Preparation: Muddle orange and brown sugar cube in an old-fashioned glass. Add ice to the glass, top with remaining ingredients and stir well.
