Since its launch in 2011, Pura Vida’s line of tequila has captured numerous spirit competition awards and the loyalty of connoisseurs as an ultra-premium, triple-distilled tequila made exclusively from 100% Blue Weber agave harvested from the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico.
Based on traditional sangrita recipes from Jalisco and dating back to the 1920s, Pura Vida’s secret family recipe, El Guapo’s Sangrita, is a powerful blend of tomato juice, lime juice, orange juice and spices. It provides the perfect complement to the nuanced flavors of Pura Vida Tequilas. It has earned its gourmet status by being prepared in small, boutique batches while only using the finest all-natural ingredients.
Judging for the 2015 Craft Mixers Competition International Awards took place at The Exhibition Room the first two weeks of April, with medal winners announced thereafter. In “blind” taste tests before a panel of nearly two dozen spirits experts, numbered flights were evaluated on a 100-point basis, with points given in areas including visual (appearance), aroma (nose), taste (flavor), finish (balance) and overall. Hosting the judging was Forrest Cokely, an expert in the field of spirits, mixology and a seasoned judge at various spirits events worldwide.
“We are proud to be recognized for the quality of our traditional products by such an esteemed panel of experts. We take pride in the authentic flavors of our full line of pure tequilas and mixers and are excited to share our hard work and dedication with the experts.”
– Pura Vida CEO Stewart Skloss
