Patricia Arquette and Ketel One Host Pre-GLAAD Dinner to Honor Alexis Arquette
By Chilled Magazine
Leading into the 28th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, Patricia Arquette and Ketel One Vodka, a steadfast ally to the LGBTQ community, hosted a private dinner to celebrate the extraordinary achievements of LGBTQ pioneer, Alexis Arquette, and unveil the Alexis Arquette Family Foundation in honor of Alexis’ legacy.
An activist with a mainstream platform, Alexis worked to raise awareness for social and civil causes impacting the LGBTQ community. Throughout the evening, Patricia shared personal anecdotes of Alexis’ tireless effort to help accelerate acceptance for transgender individuals and the LGBTQ community.
To close out the evening, Ketel One Vodka Perfect Pour bartender, Garrett McKechnie, created a celebratory cocktail called, “Two Spirits,” to toast to the LGBTQ community and Alexis’ spirit. Two Spirits refers to the blend of Ketel One Vodka and a French aperitif wine used in the cocktail. Simultaneously, it represents a sacred, spiritual and ceremonial role for individuals who are third and fourth gender.
It is this idea, the celebration of the Two Spirits and their position as leaders within their community, which reminded Garrett of Alexis’ trailblazing and fearless spirit. Standing together with its extended family has long been a natural extension of Ketel One Vodka’s identity and its relationship to the LGBTQ community.
Acting on its belief, Ketel One Vodka has committed to donating to the Alexis Arquette Family Foundation, which provides support to the families of transgender individuals in need. The Alexis Arquette Family Foundation is working to redefine acceptance through a variety of initiatives designed to raise awareness in support of transgender individuals.
Ketel One Vodka, created in the Netherlands – the progressive country that was first to legalize gay marriage – is a longstanding ally of the LGBTQ community, and stands proud to sponsor the 28th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles and New York for the seventh year in a row.
