Newcastle Brown Ale debuts its boldest, hoppiest beer ever in all-new Best of Britain Variety Pack.

Venerable brewer’s second limited-edition variety pack, featuring all-new Newcastle Foreign Extra India Pale Ale, hit U.S. shelves in September

Even with nearly a century of brewing legendary British beers under its belt, Newcastle Brown Ale still revels in forging innovative and delicious new recipes. This fall, Newcastle is once again giving Americans a chance to enjoy limited-edition beers and the best in British brewing without booking a flight to England: the second Newcastle Best of Britain Variety Pack.

This new 12-pack puts The One and Only Newcastle Brown Ale alongside two limited-edition beers: Newcastle Scotch Ale and the all-new Newcastle Foreign Extra India Pale Ale. The new offering follows the successful debut of the brewer’s first Variety Pack, which was released in April and included Brown Ale along with an exclusive British Pale Ale and British Session IPA.

“We had such a positive response to our first Variety Pack and its limited-edition beers that we decided to once again create an all-new exclusive beer. This latest Variety Pack is a balanced, exploratory look at Newcastle’s beers – Scotch Ale was an incredibly popular limited-edition beer from last year, and the Foreign Extra IPA rounds out the offerings with Newcastle’s hoppiest beer to date.”
– Priscilla Flores Dohnert, brand director for Newcastle Brown Ale

The Newcastle Foreign Extra IPA is the company’s most hop-forward beer ever. A dark gold IPA with hoppy bitterness balanced with floral and citrus notes, the Foreign Extra IPA is 6.5 percent ABV and 65 IBUs. The beer’s malty undertones and slightly sweet finish bring the memorable new brew to life.

Newcastle Scotch Ale was introduced in fall 2014 as an exclusive collaboration between Newcastle and Edinburgh’s storied Caledonian Brewery. It represents the best of English and Scottish brewing: a rich, full-flavored and fulfilling Scottish ale with toffee notes at 6.4 percent ABV and 40 IBUs. Scotch Ale is a bold yet balanced beer that will please lifelong Newcastle fans as well as more adventurous drinkers.

This second Variety Pack continues the “Collaboration Edition” series of beers brewed in partnership with the historic Caledonian Brewery in the U.K. Twelve-packs of the Newcastle Best of Britain Variety Pack appeared in retailers across the country in September. Shoppers should look for the bold Newcastle Best of Britain Variety Pack logo on the crate-style packaging.

“As beer drinkers search for fun ways to explore new beer varieties, we want Newcastle to be among the first brewers that spring to consumers’ minds,” Dohnert says. “Our Variety Packs are the perfect way for people to take their beer exploration to the next level.”
