Must Mix: Cocktails from Center Bar, NYC

Beverage Director Brad Nugent of Michael Lomonaco’s Center Bar, NYC, has created a list of creative tonic cocktails that reinvent the classic G+T with unique flavor combinations using Fever Tree tonic water.

Berry Sip

Berry Sip

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz. Tito’s
  • 1/2 oz. Vanilla Syrup
  • 4 Raspberries
  • Fever Tree Mediterranean Tonic Top

Glassware: Collins

Garnish: 1 Raspberry

Preparation: In a small mixing tin, combine raspberries and vanilla syrup. Muddle. Add vodka and ice and shake. Double strain into a Collins glass. Add tonic. Top with ice.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. Beefeater
  • 1⁄2 oz. Campari
  • 1⁄4 oz. Giffard Pomp. Grapefruit Liq.
  • 3⁄4 oz. Grapefruit Juice

Glassware: Pipe

Garnish: Orange Triangle

Preparation: In a mixing tin, combine all and shake. Strain into a pipe and top with tonic. Add ice.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Hendrick’s Gin
  • 3⁄4 oz. Cucumber Juice
  • 1⁄4 oz. Simple Syrup
  • 1⁄4 oz. Lime
  • 8 Cilantro Leaves
  • Fever Tree Mediterranean Tonic Top

Glass: Pipe

Garnish: Cilantro Sprig

Preparation: In a small mixing tin combine simple, lime and cilantro. Press the cilantro with a muddler. Add remaining ingredients, ice and shake. Double strain into a Pipe. Top with Med. Tonic then ice.


Frisco Bay

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. Dorado 3yr Rum
  • 1⁄2 oz. Ron Zacapa 23 yr
  • 1⁄4 oz. Kahlua
  • 1⁄2 oz. Cinnamon Syrup
  • 3⁄4 oz. Chilled Espresso
  • Tonic Water Top

Glass: Double Rocks

Garnish: Oil from 1 Lemon Twist

Preparation: In a small mixing tin, combine all. Shake and strain into a double rocks glass. Top with tonic. Add ice. Express lemon oil on top.

  • 1 1⁄2 oz. Cimarron Tequila
  • 1⁄2 oz. Grenadine
  • 3⁄4 oz. Pomm Juice
  • 3 dashes Lemon Bitters Tonic Water Top

Glass: Pipe

Garnish: Pomegranate Seeds

Preparation: In a small mixing tin, combine all. Shake and strain into a pipe. Add tonic. Add ice.


Line Dance

Ingredients:

  • 1 1⁄2 oz. Maker’s Mark Bourbon
  • 3⁄4 oz. Lemon
  • 3⁄4 oz. Honey Syrup
  • Tonic Water Top

Glass: Collins

Garnish: Lemon Wheel

Preparation: In a small mixing tin, combine all. Shake and strain into a Collins glass. Add tonic. Add ice.
