Following its “Best White Rum” distinction at last month’s San Francisco World Spirits Competition, Tanduay Silver Asian Rum received another prestigious medal, this time at the 2014 Miami Rum Renaissance Festival.

At the event last weekend, the expression took home a Gold Medal, one of only two awarded in the entire white rum category. Held annually in Miami, the festival is one of the world’s largest gatherings of rum producers, professionals and enthusiasts from around the world. This year, the tasting competition brought together more than two dozen spirits luminaries to evaluate nearly 100 cane spirits across an array of categories.

“Tanduay Silver Rum in the United States is a superb product, a cut above leading popular brands of white rum. This fine clear rum presents aromas of cane and subtle peppermint, a creamy butter note, a neutral mineral quality leading to a very subtle whiff of coconut husk. On the palate, a honeyed coconut opening leads to buttery wood, with a nice long warm dry peppery finish. Kudos to the team at Tanduay for delivering a first-class white rum to the Americas,” says rum expert and founder of Rum Renaissance, Robert A. Burr.

With this recent accolade, the brand’s decorated portfolio holds over 130 medals and awards. This includes the title of “Best In Class” in the gold category awarded to Tanduay Gold Asian Rum at last year‘s Rum Renaissance Festival.

“Tanduay has been nothing short of impressive when it comes to competitions,” said Whit Repp Vice President of Marketing at Brand Action Team, Tanduay’s marketing/PR agency of record. “It’s gratifying to know that the brand captivates not only consumers, but the experts who work with, study and taste rum on a day-to-day basis.”
