Hendrick’s Gin is pleased to announce that the Flying Cucumber, the brand’s 2015 cross country airship campaign, has won best Outdoor Media at MediaPost’s 2016 Creative Media Awards.
The Creative Media Awards (CMAs) are a marketing and advertising awards ceremony that honors creativity and ingenuity in the media industry. The Outdoor Media category distinguishes creativity with the use of outdoor or place-based media as a campaign’s centerpiece, which the Hendrick’s Flying Cucumber Airship did across the United States with major stops and activations in 13 cities coast to coast.
Hendrick’s Gin National Ambassador Jim Ryan was there to receive the accolade on behalf of the brand and William Grant & Sons as a whole. This award shines brightly next to other honors that the Flying Cucumber Airship campaign received in 2015, including AdWeek’s Media Plan of the Year in the category: “Best Use of Alternative Media.”
The Hendrick’s Gin team is honored that the Flying Cucumber Airship has continually been recognized as an innovative, creative, and boundary pushing use of media and is excited for what lies ahead.
“The Flying Cucumber was a game-changing initiative for Hendrick’s. Not only did it give us a powerful way to reach consumers through a surprising and unexpected medium, it became our biggest asset (literally) to drive conversation back to the cucumber, which is one of the most important elements of who we are as a brand. We’re so grateful to MediaPost and the judges of the Creative Media Awards for this honor, and we would like to thank everyone who worked on the campaign.”
– Hendrick’s Senior Brand Manager Kirsten Walpert
