Go Artisanal this Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo is a great day to explore some of tequila’s most interesting and complex expressions on the market today.
We love small-batch, artisanal and especially hand-bottled, organic spirits. This Cinco de Mayo mix up a celebratory tequila cocktail using an exceptionally sustainable spirit like 123 Organic Tequila. Check out these great recipes created by Jason Eisner for Gracias Madre.
Papi Churro
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. 123 Organic Extra Anejo (Diablito)
- 1/2 oz. House-made Sarsaparilla (or use Mexican Coke, or a store bought sarsaparilla)
- 2 dashes Scrappy’s Aromatic Bitters
- Orange Oil
Preparation: Add ingredients to crystal mixing tin. Stir. Strain into a coupe, and using a swatch of orange oil, gently mist the top of the cocktail. Garnish with a churro.
Witches Brew
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. 123 Organic Tequila Anejo (Tres)
- 3/4 oz. Carpano Antica Formula
- 1/2 oz. Benedictine
- 1/4 oz. Mezcal Espadin
Preparation: Stir. Strain into specialty coupe. Add 2 inch chunk of smoke bomb love magic (aka dry ice).
Muerte o Gloria

Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 oz. El Luchador Organic Tequila
- 3/4 oz. Yellow Chartreuse
- 1/4 oz. St. Elizabeth Allspice
- 1/4 oz. Agave
- 3/4 oz. Lemon Juice
- 2 dashes Angostura Orange Bitters
Preparation: Shake all ingredients with ice, double strain into a cocktails glass. Garnish with a lime peel.
