Competition was stiff. For more than 70 years, the Los Angeles International Wine Competition has bestowed gold medals to the best wines from around the globe, which moved to include distilled beverages in 2010. Available for purchase by the barrel only, the Single Barrel Bourbon from Garrison Brothers was released this past winter and is now almost officially sold out (only 300 barrels were produced.) Like it’s predecessor, Garrison Brothers Bourbon Whiskey, and the Fall 2014 Vintage, it’s made from organic Panhandle corn, soft red winter wheat, two-row malted barley and pure, clean Hill Country rainwater. Both the Fall 2014 Vintage and Single Barrel Bourbons boast their own unique flavor profiles and complexity and will proudly wear these medals.

“The Los Angeles International Spirits Competition is a historic institution and innovative in their recognition of craft brands and distilled spirits. So, yeah, a silver and a gold medal at this show makes us very proud.”
