The Blackberry Smash and the Hot & Cold Marg-tini, created by venerable seafood hot spot Spoto’s Oyster Bar at PGA Commons in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, are a pair of lush, garden-inspired sips perfect for summer. Give ’em a mix!
- 1 1/4 oz. Gin
- 1/2 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
- 1/4 oz. Blackberry Brandy
- Simple Syrup
- 3 Blackberries
- 4-5 Mint Leaves
- Soda Water
- Mint Sprig
Preparation: Muddle blackberries and mint leaves in a cocktail shaker. Add simple syrup and lemon juice. Fill shaker with ice, and add gin and brandy. Shake 10 times briskly. Strain into poco or hurricane glass filled with ice. Top with soda water, and garnish with a lemon wedge and mint sprig. Cheers!
Hot & Cool Marg-Tini
- 1 oz. Silver Tequila
- 3 Medium Cucumber Rings (Peeled)
- 1 Jalapeño Ring (1/4″ Thick, Deseeded)
- Fresh Lime Juice (from 2-3 Lime Wedges)
- 1/2 oz. Thatcher’s Cucumber Liqueur
- 1/2 oz. Sour Mix
Preparation: In a martini shaker tin, combine cucumber and jalapeño rings. Muddle vigorously. Fill tin with ice, then add remaining ingredients into shaker. Shake forcefully for 30 seconds. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a cucumber wheel. Cheers!
