Hand-Blended Sipping Rum Awarded “Best Rum” and “Best Extra Aged Rum” at the 5th Annual Event.
FACUNDO® Exquisito was awarded two top accolades at the 5th annual New York World Wine & Spirits Competition, including “Best Rum” and “Best Extra Aged Rum,” reaffirming the spirit’s position as one of the finest aged sipping rums.
FACUNDO Exquisito is a bold dark rum blend which marries younger rums aged seven years and matured rums aged 23 years aged in oak barrels and finished in sherry casks for a minimum of one month. The result is a bold, yet delicately balanced rum, with notes of raisins and toasted nuts.
The competition, run by the same team that helms the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and San Francisco International Wine Competition, features a panel of judges made up of nationally-known journalists, bloggers, retailers, sommeliers and mixologists with a wide variety of experiences and backgrounds to facilitate a true, unbiased quality of judging of all brands entered. The awards granted are based on criteria including taste, texture and aroma.
“We are thrilled to be awarded these merits by such well-respected experts in the spirits industry. Standing out above all other rums at this distinguished competition is an honor and further encourages us that we’ve succeeded in our efforts to elevate rum to an art form and to continue Bacardi founder Don Facundo Bacardí Massó’s dedication to producing rums of unsurpassed quality and refinement.”
– Shane M. Graber, Vice President and Brand Managing Director BACARDÍ® Rums North America
