Saigonese

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz. Wódka Vodka
  • 0.75 oz. Peychaud’s Aperitivo Liqueur
  • 0.75 oz. Pineau des Charentes
  • 0.75 oz. Kwai Feh Lychee Liqueur

Preparation:

  1. Add all the ingredients into a mixing glass.
  2. Gently stir over ice and strain into a rocks glass with fresh ice cubes.

Garnish: Pink Grapefruit Zest

Cocktail Inspiration:

Inspired by the city that I was born and raised, Saigon evokes greater emotion and connection to the city’s history. It makes me remember our Professor Nguyen Dinh Dau’s statement that if there were no Saigon, the innovative and integrated Vietnam we know today wouldn’t exist. Saigon was just a city for me, simply like the base of this drink on vodka. Through time passing with lots of thing influence first from Chinese, then French and later on the American people. That make the Saigonese straight up with their own character. And it’s all about friendly, enthusiactic, cheerful, generous… in further with a bit of stubborn and arrogant. All those things combine to create the Saigonese different in style and possessing an exceptional dynamism. Wherever I live, I’m still proud of myself as a Saigonese. I love Saigon!
