  • 1.5 oz. Harleston Green Scotch Whisky
  • .25 oz. Amaro Nonino
  • .25 oz. Laird’s Applejack Brandy
  • 1 oz. Mulled Wine*
  • 2 dashes Orange Bitters

Preparation: Build the cocktail in a rocks glass. Add a large format ice cube. Stir for 4-6 rotations.

*Mulled Wine

  • 500 ml Red Wine
  • 100 ml Orange Juice
  • 100 ml Peach Nectar
  • 100 ml 1:1 Simple Syrup
  • 50 gr Mulling Spices
  • 75 gr Brown Sugar
  • Combine Ingredients.
  • Let simmer for 20-25 minutes.
  • Strain.

Garnish: 4 fanned out green apple slices, cherry

Glassware: Rocks Glass

Cocktail Inspiration:

I love people’s expression whenever they smell or taste anything “holiday.” It could be the smell of a pumpkin spice candle, the first sip of warm, homemade mulled wine, etc. Their shoulders drop a little and they let out a sigh that says, “you’re home now, and everything is going to be alright.”

I figured a Scotch whisky like Harleston Green would blend seamlessly with the fall/winter flavors of mulled wine while the amaro and apple brandy sing beautifully in the background.

Going into this holiday season five-thousand miles away from my family, this cocktail is my little, “Home Away From Home.”
