With winter bringing low temperatures and high calorie counts, coffee is the perfect drink to combat both issues.
According to the Mayo Clinic, a plain cup of brewed coffee has less than 5 calories. Fortunately, coffee offers infinite beverage possibilities. Melitta, the inventor of pour-over coffee and the two-part filtration system used by modern drip coffee makers, offers this “Hot Caribbean” spiked coffee cocktail recipe.
- 1/10 cup Rum
- 1/10 cup Curaçao Triple Sec (Alternatively Cointreau)
- 1 cup Melitta Coffee
- Whipped Cream
- Grated Orange Peel (for Garnish)
Preparation: Put rum and the Curaçao Triple Sec in a decorative glass. Brew coffee and add it to the rum and Curacao. Top with whipped cream and garnish with grated orange peel.
