The legendary Harvey Wallbanger, allegedly created by mixologist Donato ‘Duke’ Antone, was rumored to be named after a 1950s Manhattan Beach surfer who frequented Antone’s Sunset Avenue bar. Whether you believe the Galliano-soaked drunken surfer story or the allegations of a brilliant marketing campaign, there’s no denying the wild popularity of the cocktail in the 1970s.

Whatever the true origins of the Harvey Wallbanger, Johnson’s inspired creation is an ideal addition to the highly anticipated Sycamore Den, set to open in San Diego’s “it burg” – Normal Heights – in April.
