Classic Cocktails for National Martini Day

By Chilled Magazine

Every holiday deserves to be celebrated properly, and for this National Martini Day on June 19th, 2015, celebrate by sipping on one of the most iconic Italian cocktails, the Martini & Rossi Martini.

Since its origins dating back to the 1800’s, the classic martini is believed to have gotten its name from an Italian vermouth maker under the name Martini, which is currently known today as Martini & Rossi. During the prohibition, the ease of illegal gin manufacturing helped to make the martini a predominant cocktail of the 20th century. Since that time the martini has taken on various adaptations but the classic still reigns supreme, a simple combination of gin and the original Martini & Rossi vermouth.
