Handsome and an immensely talented actor, Shazad Latif has made a name for himself in the UK for the characters he has created on screen.

With 2016 slated to be a breakout year for Shazad in the U.S., he will next be seen co-starring on the hit psychological thriller “Penny Dreadful” for Showtime/Sky. Set to premiere season three on May 1, Shazad will bring the renowned character Dr. Henry Jekyll to life.

Created, executive produced and written by Academy Award nominee John Logan, “Penny Dreadful” is set in Victorian England and follows Vanessa Ives (Eva Green), Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett), Sir Malcolm (Timothy Dalton), Sembene (Danny Sapani) and Dr. Frankenstein (Harry Treadaway) as they band together to take down the supernatural threats set upon their destruction.

On the film front, Shazad will appear as Chandra Mahalanobis in “The Man Who Knew Infinity” (IFC Films) alongside Jeremy Irons, Dev Patel, Toby Jones and Stephen Fry. The film follows Srinivasa Ramanujan (Patel) a bright student at Cambridge University during WW1 who grew up poor in Madras, India, and becomes a pioneer in mathematical theories with the guidance of his professor, G.H. Hardy (Irons).

We can’t wait for the premiere of Penny Dreadful on May 1! We are super excited to chat with Shazad about his upcoming role, his love of sports and cocktails!
