Jesse Moss can currently be seen acting alongside an all-star cast, including Vincent D’Onofrio, Kim Coates and Meat Loaf, playing Deputy Norm Waters in the SYFY/Netflix new horror series, Ghost Wars.
Set in a remote Alaskan town that has been overrun by paranormal forces, Ghost Warsfocuses on local outcast and medium Roman Mercer (Avan Jogia) who must overcome the town’s prejudices and his own personal demons if he is to harness his repressed psychic powers and save everyone from the mass haunting that’s threatening to destroy them all.
Chilled caught up with Jesse to find out what he likes to do when he’s not dealing with the paranormal. We are totally down with his dining choices!
Tell us a bit about the projects you are working on.
Currently, I’m in Tbilisi, Georgia shooting a film called Daddy’s Girl. It’s a horror/thriller about a couple who abducts women to torture and kill them. I play Deputy Scott Wallace, who is attempting to figure out who is behind these grisly murders and bring them to justice. Georgia has incredible wine country, so I’m excited to check that out while here. And then the series I recently wrapped called Ghost Wars is now out on SYFY.
With your busy schedule, what do you like to do with your downtime?
I really enjoy writing. I love the creative process of building something from scratch. I like to box as well. It’s a great stress reliever.
When you go out to eat, where do you like to dine?
I’m not particular about where I like to eat as long as the food is good. It could be from a food truck or a five-star restaurant. Atmosphere matters, but it’s really all about the people you’re with.
What types of dishes do you usually order?
I try to eat healthy, but sometimes you just have to go for it and order a burger.
Do you cook?
I love to cook. I try to do it as much as possible. I can cook a steak with the best of them. Although I might be biased.
What types of drinks do you order when out?
It all depends on what I’m doing. We have a lot of great craft beer in Vancouver, B.C., so on a hot day there’s nothing better than a glass of cold beer. I love wine as well, so I’ll have that with dinner. If I’m out and order cocktails it will usually be a vodka soda or a dirty vodka martini.
Do you prepare drinks at home?
I don’t usually prepare drinks at home. I keep it pretty simple with beer or wine.
Do you own a home bar?
I don’t really have a home bar. It’s more of a cupboard with leftover bottles.
What is your cupboard stocked with?
I think at the moment I have a bottle of Don Julio 1942 tequila and a bottle of Phrog Gin, which is from a little distillery on Hornby Island in British Columbia. It’s great. I also usually have a bunch of wine on hand.
If you did own a home bar, what would it be like?
If I did have a home bar, I would probably add a little scotch to the mix. Macallan 12 is my favorite.
What is your favorite drink/cocktail?
I like Burrowing Owl Pinot Noir or a dirty vodka martini. The vodka has to be good though.
Have you ever been a bartender?
I have never been a bartender. I have a lot of respect for them though. On a busy night the tempo and pressure looks intense. I’m not sure I could handle it.
