Chillin’ with Scott Michael Foster

By Vicki Cruz

Named one of Variety’s Top 10 Actors to Watch, Scott has brought to life some of the most versatile and memorable characters on screen today, such as, Wick Briggs on Blood and Oil and Kristoff on Once Upon a Time, both on ABC.

Scott also recurred on ABC Family’s critically acclaimed series, Chasing Life as Leo, and as Hunt Whitmarsh on AMC’s Halt and Catch Fire.  One of Scott’s most well-known credits, however, may be for his starring role as Cappie on the hit series Greek, for ABC Family.  Scott can currently be seen starring on the CW’s award- winning, critically acclaimed series, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Scott joined the show during the second season and was an instant hit as alpha-male attorney, Nathaniel Plimpton, a possible love interest for Rebecca (Rachel Bloom).

Tell us a bit about the projects you are working on.

Currently, I’m filming season 3 of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend on the CW, submitting a short film I produced and starred in to film festivals, and writing a feature film and TV pilot with my writing partner.

With your busy schedule, what do you like to do with your downtime?

I like to take my trailer out to new places I haven’t been to with my dogs and good friends.

When you go out to eat, where do you like to dine?

L.A. has such great food. I could go eat at a different place every night. But I really like Jon & Vinny’s if I really want some tasty food.

What types of dishes do you usually order?

I’ve lately enjoyed meat and veggies. Typically, a nice steak with broccoli or spinach is my jam. But if I’m doing a cheat meal then I’m definitely ordering a spicy Hawaiian pizza.

Do you cook?

I like to cook. The crock pot is my favorite. You throw things into it in the morning and by dinner everything is ready to go.

What types of drinks do you order when out?

I love Mexican beer with lime and salt but if I’m being good I’ll order a clear spirit with soda.

Do you prepare drinks at home?

I used to prepare drinks at home a lot but now I like to have someone do that for me. At a bar.

Do you own a home bar?

Not really. I have the tools to make drinks but they’re not set up in a nice bar currently.

If you did set up your home bar, what would it be stocked with?

Whisky, martini ingredients, ice bucket, glasses.

What do you imagine your home bar to look like?

I’d love to have something that could be tucked away out of sight. Pull a cord and the bookcase spins around into a bar. That’s classy.

What is your favorite drink/cocktail?

I do love a Moscow mule.

Have you ever been a bartender?

Nope. I tried when I first moved to L.A. but no one would hire me. Partly because I was underage. Seems like a fun thing to know … maybe I’ll take a class.
