Dance Moms follows the training and careers of children in dance and show business under the tutelage of Abby Lee Miller. Martello has appeared on the show since season 1, assisting Miller to choreograph the performances of dancers such as Maddie Ziegler, Mackenzie Ziegler, and Kendall Vertes. The show is currently in its seventh season.

Martello has been choreographing routines for the Abby Lee Dance Company (ALDC) since she was 16 years old. She has been part of the faculty for 11 years, and has been a guest instructor and judge around the world on competition circuits. Her award-winning routines have earned her regional and national titles, as well as choreography and overall awards.

Here’s what Martello told Chilled about her love of shopping and all things spicy.

Tell us about the projects you are working on.

I am heading back to Los Angeles at the end of January to continue teaching and working! I just recently worked on two videos with Nia Frazier: one with singer Alexx Calise, and one of her original songs.

With your busy schedule, what do you like to do with your down time?

Shop! Retail therapy for sure. I also like to pamper myself and get massages and my nails done.

When you go out to eat, where do you like to dine?

I love to go out for sushi the most. Anything Japanese, Thai, Chinese … all my favorites!

What types of dishes do you usually order?

The spiciest thing on the menu! Usually with chicken or shrimp and veggies too!

Do you cook?

Not really. I probably could, but I like ordering in or going out to dinner more. I can make really good guacamole, though!

What types of drinks do you order when out?

Usually a glass of wine at dinner or a vodka tonic if I am out!

Do you prepare drinks at home?

Sometimes, but there is always wine at home. ALWAYS.

Do you own a home bar?

No. Someday I will!

What will it be like?

It would have EVERYTHING. I love having people over and hosting parties, so I would want it to be stocked with anything my guests could ever want.

What is your favorite cocktail?

I just had a fabulous drink in Montreal, it was called the Kate Winslet. Rose gin, citrus, soda, and bitters, maybe? So good!

Have you ever been a bartender?

No, but it would be so fun to guest bartend somewhere!
