Château d’Esclans, which was recently awarded Wine Enthusiast’s European Winery of The Year Award for 2014, has a portfolio which includes four highly regarded premium rosé wines: Whispering Angel, Château d’Esclans, Les Clans and Garrus. The brand will join Magrino’s esteemed wine and spirits division which includes the luxury wine brand Marchesi Antinori, Moet Hennessy Estates & Wines, Nicolas Feuillatte, Bedell Cellars and several William Grant & Sons’ brands.

Built during the mid-19th century, Château d’Esclans is located in the heart of the Côtes de Provence appellation, just north of St.-Tropez. Acquired in 2006 by wine veteran Sacha Lichine, Château d’Esclans has quickly become a world class brand providing a strong contribution to the unprecedented growth within the rosé category. The Château is acclaimed for its old Grenache vines, which produce grapes that offer a greater concentration of flavor and complexity (some vines being up to 90 years old which are located in the higher elevated plots of the estate).

Château d’Esclans “Garrus” rosé (SRP: $100)

Garrus is extremely transparent and pale in color, with concentrated aromas and flavors of dried citrus. Glazed pear and pineapple fill the mid palate, and the creamy finish features rich, spicy notes. Touted as the most exclusive rosé in the world, Garrus is powerful and elegant with distinct agility.

Château d’Esclans rosé (SRP: $35)

Château d’Esclans is transparent pale in color and has a delicate red berry aromas on the nose. On the palate, it is has mineral and floral notes with a touch of spice; complimented by a long, dry finish. Château d’Esclans is a wine for rosé enthusiasts and the only wine to be awarded a Master, the highest accolade given during the inaugural Drinks Business Rosé Masters.

Château d’Esclans “Les Clans” rosé (SRP: $65)

Les Clans is very light and nearly transparent in color with ripe red berry aromas and toasty hazelnut notes. Ripe pineapple and ginger is evident on the palate with notes of black licorice on the finish. Full-bodied, yet elegant, Les Clans is noted as reminiscent of a white Burgundy.

Named after an early 19th century chapel located on the vineyard property and inspired by the two cherubs who adorn the walls, Whispering Angel is a refreshing, dry rosé.
