Bars Gear Up for Manhattan Month this October

By Chilled Magazine

San Diego’s The Whiskey House, home to California’s largest and the nation’s third-largest whiskey collection (with over 2,500 diverse bottles) is gearing up for Manhattan Month this October.

The bar’s one-of-a-kind White Truffle Manhattan, infused in-house with imported truffles and topped with real gold flakes, is an elevated twist on the classic drink.

The iconic San Diego drinking destination imports Italian white Alba truffles (when in season) at a staggering price of over $2,000 per pound, shaves them thin, and infuses Rittenhouse Rye 100 Proof Whiskey with the unmistakably rich truffle flavor. After letting it sit for two weeks, whiskey connoisseurs strain and bottle the specialty-infused whiskey. A rich depth of flavor coats the tongue from the artful combination of the truffle-infused whiskey, sweet vermouth, Angostura bitters, maraschino cherry garnish, and real 24K gold flakes!
